FunnyFace Flo had a great trip to Chicago this week.  Looks as if she is getting her photo next to the famous CTA.  Not sure why her hands are in the air.

U out there Steve or Alan?

Gotta love the Meerkats. Apparently this is was filmed as an outtake of Meerkat Manor when they were looking for Alan and Steve the makeup artists. Meerkats can be very stinky and dirty creatures so having them look their best is critical to all of the episodes. Take the penguins for example at the end of “March of the Penguins”.    Yuck.

The Meerkats mainly live in Africa, they live for 12ish years and travel in clans or packs.

FunnyFace Steve Says “Hi”

You may have heard the rumors, and yes they are true.  FunnyFace Steve has been edited into what we feel should be an award-winning video of him saying Hi.  During a short interview about the video, Steve said “I am stumped as to why anyone would ever want to watch this, and I personally have not yet made it past the two-minute point”.  Based on these comments, we feel this viral video has been a true success!

We challenge you to watch all 10:03 without having a seizure.  Good Luck.

Gearin Up for Daytona 500

FunnyFace Magnets

February 20, 2011:  Today should be considered a national holiday for NASCAR fans, because the annual Daytona 500 or “the Great American Race” will be happening this afternoon.  For those who are not lovers of NASCAR, this is an automobile race that is 500 miles in length.  The person that crosses the finish line first……WINS!

“The Daytona 500 is regarded as the most important and prestigious race on the NASCAR calendar, carrying by far the largest purse.[1] Championship points awarded are equal to that of any other Sprint Cup race. It is also the series’ first race of the year; this phenomenon is virtually unique in sports, which tend to have championships or other major events at the end of the season rather than the start.”

Yummy. Chocolate Mint Day.

FunnyFace Magnets

February 19, 2011:  This is a perfect Saturday for celebrating the long-awaited Chocolate Mint Day.  We do not know who came up with this holiday but our discussions around the break room table led to either Andy (from Andes Candy), Willy Wonka or the Hershey Corporation.  Regardless, take advantage of this day for indulging in chocolate-mint related treats.

“Chocolate mint day is celebrated as a day to indulge your sweet tooth with anything and everything related to chocolate mint!  From candies, to cupcakes, cake, or brownies, this is a day that you have to celebrate if you love chocolate mint!”

Cow Milked in an Airplane?

FunnyFace Magnets

February 18, 2011:  There is not much worth discussing today here at FunnyFace Magnets.  We could tell you about Independence Day in Gambia or National Democracy Day in Nepal but we really don’t care about either.  Therefore, we thought you’d like to know that 81 years ago today a cow named Ollie was milked while riding in an airplane.

Elm Farm Ollie became the first cow to fly in an airplane.  During the flight, which was attended by reporters, she was milked, and the milk was sealed in paper containers and parachuted over St. Louis, MO.  Thats all we have to say about that.

February 17, 2011:  Today is the beginning of International Friendship week so be nice to those around you.  In celebration for this important week, we will be hugging every friend we see thru February 23rd.

The emphasis this week is appreciation of friendship.  Make an effort to let friends know that their friendship is not taken for granted.  Make an effort to strengthen positive friendships.  Bear in mind that good friends remain when everybody else deserts you.

National Flag of Canada Day.

FunnyFace Magnets
FunnyFace Photo
February 15, 2011:  The national flag of Canada was inaugurated on this day in 1965, which is why we are celebrating National Flag of Canada Day or simply “Flag Day” for those who have a short attention span.

The Canadian national flag, also known as the “maple leaf flag”, is flown on many buildings, including private homes on National Flag of Canada Day.  Some people wear pins in the form of the flag.  Many schools often hold special lessons on the Canadian national flag and its history around this time of the year.

If you are currently living in America, disregard this post and get back to work.

National Condom Day.

FunnyFace Magnets
FunnyFace Photo
February 14, 2011:  Today is National Condom Day.  Someone has finally proved that when worn correctly (similar to above), condoms help to prevent the spread of STDs which could include HIV.  Yuck.  Here are some helpful facts:

  • 15 million new cases of STDs are reported yearly
  • 65 million people in the US are living with a chronic STD
  • One in four Americans will contract an STD at some point
  • It is difficult to put on a condom that has already been used
  • Poking a hole in your friends condom is considered funny

We just remembered that today is also Valentines Day.  It probably would have been more appropriate to cover that topic.  But then again we all know that one.

Get to your local tavern or gas station, put 50 cents in the machine, and buy yourself a condom for your romantic Valentines evening.   Enjoy.
